Dr Roloff has been a permanent visiting professor of Buddhism and Dialogue in Modern Societies at the Academy of World Religions at the University of Hamburg since 2018. From 1981‒1996 she studied Buddhist philosophy and praxis with Geshe Thubten Ngawang in Hamburg, and from 1997 Tibetology and Indology focused on Buddhist Studies (Magister 2003, PhD 2009). From 2010 she led a DFG research project on the Buddhist ordination of nuns, and from 2013‒2018 was part of the European BMBF-funded research project on “Religion and Dialogue in Modern Societies”. Current focus areas include Dialogical theology and practice, intra-Buddhist dialogue and impulses and recognition processes of Buddhist minorities in Europe.
