Numata Center for Buddhist Studies' Ten Year Celebration

On Tuesday, July 4, 4.15-5.45 p.m., the Numata Center for Buddhist Studies will celebrate its tenth anniversary. It will take place in room 221, Asien-Afrika-Institut, East Wing, Hamburg University. Welcome addresses and greetings will be delivered by Prof Dr. Susanne Rupp (Vice President, Hamburg University), Prof. em. Dr. Lambert Schmithausen (Indian Buddhism, Hamburg University) and Prof Dr. Shōryū Katsura (President of Bukkyō Dendō Kyōkai, Tokyo). The history and future of the Numata Center for Buddhist Studies will be discussed by the two Co-Directors Prof. Dr. Steffen Döll and Prof. Dr. Michael Zimmermann. The key note will be given by Prof Dr. Jens-Uwe Hartmann, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Music by Minako Uno-Tollmann (Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg) and her string trio: pieces by Dvořák, Naumann, and Kodály.
After the official part there will be a reception with snacks and drinks for all. Admission is free.
