Dr. Matusoka's speciality is the Indian Buddhist epistemological tradition from the 8th c. to the 11th c. Last year, she submitted her dissertation titled “Introducing introductions: A study on Kamalaśīla’s Tattvasaṅgrahapañjikā on the initial statement (ādivākya) of Śāntarakṣita’s Tattvasaṅgraha” to Leipzig University. Since then, she has been working as a post-doc fellow on “Yamāri“ project with Prof. Franco in Leipzig. She will move to IKGA in Vienna for “Kamalaśīla” project next year.
At her lecture, she will be presenting a section from her dissertation. and pointing out some problems in Sara McClintock’s analysis of the structure of the Tattvasaṅgraha (McClintock 2010). She will also reexamine the structure on the basis of the initial statement of the Tattvasaṅgraha which is arranged as ‘a table of contents’ of this lengthy work.
